Save Session
Save every ordinary web page in the current window as one named Session. Nothing closes. Use it as a checkpoint before a meeting, a restart, or a change of direction.
A calmer browser, without losing your place
Your browser is full because every tab means something. UntangleTabs saves the tabs in your current window before anything closes, then helps you find the exact one, or the whole thread, later.
Starts locally, no account. Optional sync and recovery are planned for launch.
02 Saved should mean saved
Calm is worthless if the work disappears later. Every save is written before a single tab closes, and every close is journalled, so an interrupted browser can pick up exactly where it left off.
These are the tests a tab manager has to pass. We publish the independent results, with dates, before launch. No claim on this page runs ahead of its evidence.
03 Why closing a tab feels harder than it should
A client idea. The article you meant to finish. Research for a decision you have not made yet.
You keep them open because closing them feels like trusting yourself to find them again. UntangleTabs gives every thread somewhere safe to land, without asking you to build a filing system first.
04 See the mess. Choose what happens next.
Save every ordinary web page in the current window as one named Session. Nothing closes. Use it as a checkpoint before a meeting, a restart, or a change of direction.
Save the Session first. Then close the ordinary unpinned pages that are safe to close, and come back to a quiet window. Pinned tabs and the page you are using stay put. Undo brings everything back.
05 Know what is open
The panel shows every tab in the current window with its title and favicon. Type, and jump straight to the right page. No clicking through tiny icons, no opening a duplicate, no losing the page you were just on.
Free, local, and instant. Searching activates the tab you already have open instead of making a duplicate.
06 When you remember the idea, not the title
Free local search finds open tabs and saved items by their words. Planned Pro and AI search adds meaning, so you can describe what you were doing and get the thread back, with the reason it matched shown in plain sight.
Search the tabs open in this window, and your saved library, by title and domain. Verified in the shipped build.
The same fast local search, plus higher limits, recovery and daily snapshots. Not a different search engine.
Search by meaning, with visible match reasons and Search-to-Session. Labelled planned until it passes end-to-end testing.
07 Built for imperfect systems
UntangleTabs never needs a folder or a clean archive before it helps. Capture now, find it later. When you turn on planned AI, it proposes groups by topic, project or intent, shows the proposal first, lets you adjust it, and keeps a durable reverse. Your original saved record stays untouched.
08 Your library. Your choice.
Use UntangleTabs without an account. Your library stays in this browser. Removing the extension, resetting the profile, or losing the device can lose local-only data, so export is always one click away.
Sign in when you want recovery across devices. Synced data will be encrypted in transit and at rest. We will publish exactly how recovery works, in plain language, before it ships.
09 Organisation without surrendering control
Review the proposal, move what feels wrong, accept it when it helps, reverse it when it does not. Before any AI request leaves the browser, the planned disclosure explains what is sent, why, and who processes it. Trust and control are the point, not magic.
planned Separate, explicit opt-in. Off until you turn it on.
10 Planned launch pricing
For clearing the browser and finding your way back, locally.
$23.88 billed yearly. For people who use UntangleTabs as a workspace.
$79 yearly, planned. For organising and retrieving large libraries.
Downgrade rule: nothing is deleted. Items above the free limits become read-only until you upgrade again, or trim your library below the cap. When an AI quota is reached, local search and every non-AI feature keep working, and you see the next reset date. No silent overage charges.
11 The questions that decide it
No. The Session is written first. Only after the save succeeds does UntangleTabs close the tabs that are safe to close, and every close is journalled so an interruption can resume cleanly.
Pinned tabs, browser-internal pages, extension pages, and the exact page you are looking at. Untangle only touches ordinary web pages in the current window.
No. Capture now, find it later. There is no folder or taxonomy to build before it becomes useful. Planned AI only proposes structure, and only when you ask.
Yes. Search the side panel and jump to that tab. It activates the page you already have open, it does not make a duplicate.
Yes. A saved Session reopens its tabs. Undo, right after an Untangle, reopens the closed tabs before removing the Session.
No. Free starts local and needs no account. Sign-in exists only if you choose planned sync and recovery.
Local-only data lives in this browser. Removing the extension, resetting the profile, or losing the device can lose it. That is why export is always one click away, and why sync and recovery are planned.
Planned synced data will be encrypted in transit and at rest. We will describe recovery in precise, non-clever language before it ships, and will not claim more than the system does.
Nothing, until you turn it on. When you do, a plain disclosure explains what is sent, why it is needed, and which provider processes it, before anything leaves the browser.
Nothing is deleted. Items above the free limits become read-only until you upgrade again or trim below the cap. Your data stays exportable.
